Mixed media canvas

I created this artwork for a friend's birthday. We had visited a park together and seen this unusual architecture that he liked.



I thought I'd use a photo I took as a template. Here's the photo:



First I printed the photo at the size of the canvas, and overlaid the enlarged photo over five different colours of card, using the photo as a cutting guide.

I painted the canvas to create the sky peeping through the windows inside the building.

The black card was cut to represent the interior of the building



I then layered the other colours of card on top to finish the picture off.
